I currently have a Fuji XT-2 and am looking for a second 'all purpose' travel camera. I am tempted by the new Canon M6 and the Sony A600 or ..... Any thoughts please?

Hard to beat the A6000 for just that purpose.

I had an A6000 along with the two kit lenses, the 16-50 and the 55-210, which I found to be a good combination. The smaller lens was on the camera most of the time but the 55-210 was easy to carry in a jacket pocket because it's fairly small and light. I never found either of them to be lacking, although the larger zoom lens was a bit on the slow side at full zoom in low light.

Why not an xt20 or x100t or x70...seems odd to me to introduce a whole other system and lenses.

Very good point. I'll have a look at those. Many thanks.

I doubt that you would be happy with either camera, not to mention the lenses that are provided for those bodies. Why not another xt2? On FM, you can get them lightly used for a good saving.

I got rid of my RX100s and got an A6000 on sale because I wanted a small alternative to a DSLR at a reasonable price.

Read comparisons and specs, and decide what features are important to you.

I'm in Greece now with my A6000, while my Nikon D800E sits in Pennsylvania. It's my second trip with my A6000, and I'm confident I'll get the shots I want. One caveat, seriously consider pairing the A6000 to a Sony/Zeiss 16-70 mm lens. The Sony lens that came with the camera--for the life of me, I can't remember the length--was too soft for my taste.

Kit 16-50 is soft...a common complaint.
