Most avid hunters that I know will not agree with these conditions. First of all most of us would never shoot a hibernating animal unless it was a matter of life or death nor would we EVER shoot a cub or a sow with cubs. If this is true they'll get most of their backlash from legitimate hunters.
Predatory control is usually very restricted and most legitimate hunters won't have anything to do with it. In many cases it carried out by government agency's to control the numbers.

I used to camp in NH, near Lake Winnipesaukee. At one time, they were considering bringing in snipers from NJ to kill off the "excess deer" on Long Island. I don't think the NH hunters appreciated that idea.
they love to shoot wolves from helicopters too. wow that sounds like fun Goober.
There is a reason for controlling over population. When I was in graduate school in Pa. farmers would occasionally bring in dead deer in the winter because they were concerned they died due to a possible disease that could affect their animals. Most of these animals upon necropsy were found with rumens full of dried leaves and they died of starvation. Over population can lead to the total destruction of a population of a species in a given area due to lack of food. It's better to cull out a number of the herd to keep the population down and allow those left to feed on what natural food is available.
Does this apply to nasty neighbors sleeping off a bender in their recliner?
My nephew recently gave his wife, who is an avid hunter, an Elimintor III Laser scope for her rifle. According to the company it is capable of "ranging and knocking down targets out to 1,200-plus yards". Sounds like a person can sneak up on an animal and blow it away from about 2/3 of mile away. Actually, doesn't even have to sneak up on it, just lie in wait. Seems to me that is more like being a sniper than a sportsman.

Different thrills for different folks.
I've gotten several emails about that but I have yet to see any confirmation from any official source...it reeks of fake!!
Jerry, that is anything but sporting. Reminds of a deer population problem outside of Rochester, NY several years ago. The hunters all volunteered to go out and hunt them; they just asked for permission to get more deer. If hunted this way, it would have been natural and thousands of hunters could have stocked their freezers with more venison to feed their families with. They were all denied by New York state and their answer was was to illegally trap them in a field by drawing them from long distances with bright lights and have a bunch of Rangers at one end of the field to slaughter them in a mass shootout. The bodies were carried off and destroyed by fire; so we were told. Government is so immoral and idiotic, one could not write such an evil science fiction story to match their actions anymore.
What actually happened is this: The feds decided to return control to the state of Alaska, who will now make their own rules. That it was made out to be some horrible action in order to allow this type of hunting is something the MSM latched onto in order to embarrass Trump.
He does enough to do that, the left should stop distorting facts.
