What does a company do when it's swamped with coins? It pays its employees with coins!

The Chinese make everything, why can't they make a coin counting/sorting/stacking machine. They are available, the Chinese could clone one of them.

A yuan coin is there lowest denomination and it is worth 15 of our pennies. Why are we still screwing around with pennies? They are practically worthless. And they are expensive to produce compared to what they are worth, from what I hear. We need to ditch them.

One reason: the metals and especially the copper industry. The amount of copper n a penny has been reduced, but it's still metal, so companies are making a lot of money selling that metal to the government. Their employees - the U. S. politicians - resist any effort to get rid of pennies.
