Not all cradles are for babies...
I want to share this photo because it is amazing. Notice that I am not saying that I AM amazing... Just the shot. It is a fairly rare capture of a very dangerous event. I went to the rodeo school to take some pictures of the boys practicing. This young man, Clay, had an unfortunate dismount from a bronc. His position is called "in the cradle" because of where he is. It is extremely dangerous because most of the time, the cowboy gets kicked by the horse. This can lead to severe head injury and sometimes death. This time, fortunately, nothing happened and Clay walked away. So enjoy a very rare capture of a lucky young man. If you want to see more of the photos from that weekend, visit my facebook page: Steal Shot Photography. It is public. There are tons of them on there... Some great, some just okay. I tried to post one of each guy from the weekend... They loved it!
Glad he's ok! What a "get."

Glad the young man was okay, we have always enjoyed the rodeo and the skill the riders work so hard to achieve! Thanks so much for sharing this rare capture!

I understand your opinion. It is a very sobering thing to observe rodeo school. As spectators, most people don't think about the training that is involved. I am originally from a huge metropolis and now I live in a small rural community. I spoke with many of the guys training, as they were extremely personable. They do not feel fear, just anticipation. The general philosophy out here is that people are aware of the risks of various activities and that they make their own decisions. While that seems hard for some people to internalize, it is a cultural way of life.

Fortunately we live in a world where your, "hate", is easily remedied. Simply don't attend. Now wasn't that easy.

Dennis, I think dancers was speaking in a figurative way. However, if more people adopted your remedy...The world would be a better place. Out here, most people don't try to control what others do. Very refreshing!
