I had the opportunity to visit Death Valley in early March of this year, and made Zabriskie Point a primary stop. Death Valley, as all of California, has endured strong Winter storms this year, and these pictures illustrate the clearing clouds. There were other areas I had planned to stop and photo, but many of the roads were either being repaired or were closed by the National Park Rangers. The good news is that the temperatures were mild and I was able to do a few canyon hikes. I also had the good fortune to join a photo workshop for a day on the Salt Flats at the invitation of John Barclay, the leader of the group. Visitors that came after me should have been able to take advantage of desert flower blooms. It is an amazing place, and the people you meet make it even better. Thanks to all.

I like both versions of the outlook Thomas.
Thanks for the comments. Here is one more that is one of the 8 shots that make up the panorama. There was very little done in post process, as the colors are indeed spectacular already.
Beautiful photos of Death Valley. You are right the colorsame look amazing.
I've never been there, but you've certainly sold me! Normally I'd come out in favor of the outlook in B&W, yet as others have said, each stands on its own--like them both very much. I find it interesting that they're different images (based on the shadows and the clouds). Any particular reason you didn't simply convert the color version? Thanks!
