Small Bird Launching From Cattail In Swamp

When this little bird launched from the Cattail plant, it reminded me of a dandelion blossom that had turned to seed, and carried away by the breeze.

Super eye-catching, Phil. Love the light and textures, and how you were able to catch the bird's beak (mine are always hidden by wings ). The soft background and overall gentle colors are so pleasing.

Thank you very much Linda. I have finally learned to crank up the shutter speed for this type of shot. It is fun when the results are positive.

I have now identified this bird as a female RedWing Blackbird. Lots of them live nearby in a local marsh.

Phil, I love then and love to hear them calling at this time of year, but they come in such numbers that the other birds have difficulty getting to the feeders! Before long they will pair off and start nest building and things should get back to normal!
