I thought some of you might enjoy seeing the snow geese that travel through our area in the spring and the fall.
Their numbers are amazing and the sound they make as they lift off is deafening and amazing!

I saw thousands of snow geese in James Bay. It's a staging area for snow geese and Canada geese and other migrants that fly south in the fall. The sound of thousands of geese as they collectively take to the skies is truly deafening and it's a truly wonder-provoking sight to see!
Best regards, Ricker

I'd be real careful standing outside, maybe an umbrella!

I have never been directly under their flight path--that might be a good thing

Breathtaking! Pretty sure I've never seen a photo with quite as many as you've documented here. Hard to get one's mind around the sight.

Yes, it was probably a once in a lifetime thing for me. I was directly in the flight path and was wearing a wide brim hat, fortunately, but I was "bombed" as hundreds lightened their respective loads as they flew overhead. Guess DEFINITELY eat green grasses. Best regards, Ricker
