Windy Night aftermath

It all started shortly after I put the garbage cans out for pickup the next day...
I walked into the house and heard a loud crash as I closed the front door.
The photos are the result of the crash...
The tree is now slated to come down... I planted this elm from a twig over 40 years ago

Well I suspect the village will be doing that... We have lost over 4000 trees in the last couple of years due to the ash bore..

But if they don't I will....

Thanks for dropping by.

Thanks Angela,

as I wrote above we have lost over 4000 trees to the ash bore here in our village alone in the last couple of years not to mention
how many have been taken down in our forest preserve...

Wow Angela,
I have not heard of anything killing pines... Is it just out by you or is it spreading?

Most of the damage is on LI, with the infestation of the Southern Pine Beetle, about the size of a grain of rice!!
