My Sony DCR SR200 HDD camcorder has developed a problem. The LCD Screen has turned blue and looks similar to negative film. I am wondering if anyone has ever had the same or similar problem. Thanks for any response.

Check your menu settings. My old Sony camcorder had a "negative" mode. Yours may be set in that special effect mode.

(Is there a prankster in the house?)

Sony camcorders are very durable. My son uses them almost daily, and they hold up very well. The only problem he ever had was the touchscreen not working. Yours is an older model, and nothing lasts forever. Replacing will be cheaper than repairing.

If I were you, I'd look at a hybrid mirrorless camera before buying another camcorder. There are several good choices that record video in various flavors of 4K, 1080P, etc. AND record excellent stills as well.

I use a Panasonic GH4, for everything my iPhone won't do. The newer G85 is very compelling, as will be the GH5 when it is released any day now.
