Experimental Chat Room for June 8th

I thought I'd try an experimental chat room on UHH for a day. Post any subject you like and run with it. Once you've posted, though, you'll actually have to pop out and back in again to get updated with replies.

I thought I start it off with Ken Rockwell's assertion that he can make much better photos using a full frame camera with lesser lenses that he can with crop sensor camera with excellent lenses. Any thoughts?

This is no different that a normal thread, but OK.

It depends, in part, on the photographer. I've seen some pretty bad images from people that have good equipment. It might be true in certain cases, but there are lenses out there that will give you a crappy image no matter what sensor you have.

Unfortunately, I have to take college-bound lazy_lobster to Delaware for his orientation so I can't play along today - maybe the next time. ;)

Well, the idea was to get a few people to stick around on the chat rather than go away and come back later. To try to make things move quicker. Like a coffee clache. I tried to get admin to set up a regular chat site, but I haven't seen anything.

I'll look into the idea of setting up a chat room on UHH, but there are few things on my to-do list that I need to finish off first. So unfortunately it won't be any time soon.

My subject will be the cost of ads that Obama and Michelle have on every corner of every page you land on (just about) - BIG ads too. Have ya ever wondered how much those ads cost? Yesterday, I saw two big ads approx 6" x 7" on this Huffington Post page. Why have the same ad on the same page? Suppose it's good the public contributes to him, cause, for sure, he would never use his own money to buy space for them! Little do they know, people don't pay attention to them once the see 'em for the first time.

Actually, I think you can refresh with the F5 key, at least those on PCs can. I wouldn't know about the "other kind".
That way you don't have to pop out and then back in.

Have ya ever bought a pair of shoes that YOU thought were so beautiful and 'comfortable' looking and everyone had to stop and comment on them, telling you what a great choice you made in that purchase - or did some tell ya when you purchased those super expensive shoes, they would wear out sooner than you think cause although they looked good on the outside didn't mean they were going to stay that way cause this store where you bought 'em, might be sellin' ya a 'bill of goods' -- anything to make a sale!!

But you said you've only had them 3 years and they're still comfortable and everyone around still brags on them. Now there've been times when they began to pinch my toes and the leather is not as shiny as the store told me they would stay, cause they were supposed to be 'all weather' shoes which was top of the line and would last at least 8 years.

However, recently, they've been leaking when it rains or when I step in muddy water, ruining my socks and the shiny gloss has disappeared making me believe they were not the 'original' Dockers they were advertised as. So I took them to a Private Eye to find out if this store is selling it's customers a cheap replica or was it advertising them as the original Docker brand that they were supposed to be.

The PI came back with the information I paid him to get, only to find out they were made in Africa and were not the original Docker brand made in America, but instead were a replica of them. I was furious after learning this, cause I paid a fortune for these Docker shoes. How can a store deceive the public like this.. or was it meant only for 'suckers' such as me to buy 'em cause they 'looked good' - and was 'comfortable' or so I thought, but now they're pinching my toes, and the leather was cracking due to poor quality and construction ---- besides the soles have started to get holes in them and I haven't even worn them that often.

So, I went back to the store, with shoes in hand and demanded the store give me my money back, although I had worn them for 3 plus years but not consistently.... and would you believe the store owner had the audacity to tell me... "Well, nothing last forever.... cause you see, you 'believed' you had the original until some PI told you they were fakes.... and now you want your money back? Sorry... but nothing last for ever... but it WILL LAST forever if you 'believe' in it!!!

Since the Store wouldn't give me even part of my money back, I'm going to tell each and every person I meet how this store is deceiving people into thinking they are the original Docker brand when they're not.... But, if you BELIEVE them to be, but later find out the store is deceiving it's customers, there'll only a few people to check this out, mainly cause no matter whether they are the originals or not... the shoes to them, still look good and they won't care - cause the 'smell' is still on the rose!

Isn't it strange how a 'store' can sell you a 'bill of goods' just by listening to them talk, telling you how comfortable a certain brand of shoes are and will bring you much happiness in having them....... and you're gullible enough to believe it too!!! Amazing, huh?
