Route de Notre-Dame, a street in the beautiful city of Rouen in Northern France, so beautiful its hard to believe its the city where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake in 1431.

Fantastic shot! I love all of that detail in the wood and trim of the buildings. The tiled roof is such a beautiful contrast to the architecture. I love the brick street, seems a wonderful place to walk about. Not a lot one can do about it's own history, just try to do better and not allow it to repeat. Not sure if you even had to do much post work, it is so well done. I'd encourage any viewer to see this on the available black background instead of this yellow. Stunning color!

Thanks for your feedback carlysue. I have to say, Rouen, along with Lyon in the South are my 2 favourite French cities, I would choose to visit either over Paris any day. As for the history, like most cities there is far more good a beautiful history than bad and the Cathedral in Rouen is just so beautiful and was so wonderfully captured by Monet, who's house at Giverny is not far from here, and if you should ever get there, apart from Monet House with the ponds and water lilies there is a superb museum of the works of the American Impressionist Painters.
