Mistakes happen, and I don’t like to bash any company when they screw up, but enough is enough. I’ve bought nearly all my gear, new and used, from B&H the past 40 years, and have often highly recommended them here. No more. About 1 1/2 years ago I ordered a used lens, the tripod collar was missing. Then I ordered a used Leica M39 mount lens, received a Nikon zoom. Then I ordered a new lens, received it with the wrong mount, even though the lens’ mount was clearly marked on the box. I must be a glutton for punishment, because I ordered a used tripod. According to my order record on their web site they shipped a Ries J100 with an A200 head. Friday I received a J600 with the A200 head. Here’s the kicker - the invoice says it’s a J901 kit, which Ries says they never heard of! In each case B&H customer service has been top tier, I have no complaints there. But the sloppy handling of these botched orders has done it for me.
That's what happened after they let their warehouse people unionize. That's the only major change they have had in the last couple of years that I'm aware of.
Sounds like you've had far more than a reasonable share of bad experience. I hope you forward your comments to B&H, as I know they would appreciate having a summary of what has happened in your case. I've always been very satisfied with my years of shopping B&H, but I understand completely your disappointment and frustration. I just hope that--if still possible--they "make it right." Good luck!

Yes, B&H is aware of my disappointment. And their customer service after the sale has been great each time, but I don’t like not being assured of getting what I order the first time.

Something’s amiss, that’s a fact.
Try contacting UHH member "Hershel" Waldner and explain your dissatisfaction. He is a decent guy and a senior member of their organization, able to get things done in my experience. /Ralph

Hershel has assisted me before, and I was pleased to give him a 100% satisfaction rating, but these issues have been resolved, and they’ll have no opportunity to botch another order from me!
Maybe B&H is trying to do something about it. It seems they plan on closing 2 NY warehouses and moving them to NJ.

I hope they improve. They’ve been so good for so long.

I was fooling myself, didn’t want to believe it.

You just might fall on the edge of the probability curve as I did recently with USPS. I always admired the reliability of the mail, but I recently had three consecutive issues with domestic Priority Mail parcels, two involving cameras. One took over two weeks, the other ten days, and a third package that never made it even though a postal worker at the destination sent me the a picture of it after sending it to permanent storage in Atlanta from where it can never be retrieved. I'm back to trusting them again, but nothing surprises me any more. I doubt many customers have our luck, but it does happen. My guess is you will never see another error from B&H again if you stick with them.
