Various trips with Connie, the gal I dated there for a year, up on the way to Yosemite or up into the Wine Country and the gardens of and the French Laundry Restaurant itself...it's a visual as well as culinary feast for the eyes...almond groves to grapes and bell peppers, artichokes, brussells sprouts, garlic and everything in between.
If you have not been to the French Laundry the waiting list used to be about a year and dinner for two with a middling good wine was the better part of $1,000 and for years it was on the world's top 50 restaurant list. Much of their veggies they grow with two horticulturists just across the road. One of those restuarants for serious "foodies" only.
What a pretty state when you get off the Interstates, this is a couple areas of N. California.

You make a good argument for getting off into the lesser traveled areas away from the interstate. Nice set. Love those red bell peppers. Thanks for posting.

It's coming round to that time of the year again. Some of us will have to wait a bit longer than others...
