Dear friends, do any of you have experience with this lens? The price seems right but am wondering about the quality before I pull the trigger.
Many thanks.

If it's a macro lens, you should check in the UHH True Macro section.
I purchased this lens I love it a little on the heavy side.
Don't buy it from 42nd Street Photo I had some bad experience with that company.
I had the Tamron 70-200 2.8 and loved that lens. It didn't focus fast enough for sports so I bought the Canon.
Please forgive me as I meant to say Tokina as opposed to Tamron.

Is that Tokina lens for a canon camera?
Hi I got the Tokina 100mm macro 1 1/2 years ago and couldn't be happier!!!!! I like the manual focus clutch on it and when I bought it I didn't think that it would be a feature that I'd use all that much and I don't use it all the time either but when I want it I really like having it. I used to use the Nikon 40mm macro and this is a huge step up. I mostly shoot bugs and trust me I'm no expert but the lens works fantastic and I couldn't think of one I would get for a replacement. If you have any specific questions please feel free to pm me. Great price, very sturdy and durable and excellent sharpness. If something happened to mine I'd want to get another to replace it. Do check out the macro section with Nikon 72 or close up section with Dixie Girl they both are really a great source of information and they will help you out no problem. Mine is on a Nikon d7100, and works perfectly, now if I could only get it together.
Thanks so much for your informative reply. This is so helpful. I read where there is an obscure button which can lick the focus. Have you experienced any issues with that?
Oh yes and it's helpful too. It limits the focus that you use so your lens isn't slowed down by a long search. I don't shoot a lot of 1-1 but when I do get in that range it's nice to click that on and the lens doesn't lose focus and you spend time going back and forth searching for focus. I does help and some times you forget it's on when you move to the next bug but once you use to lens for a little while you recognize when it's on instantly. It's still winter but here in Florida I got a few bugs last week, If you'd like I could send you a few, but once again I'm not an expert, just a guy with a camera that likes to shoot bugs and birds.
