It does snow in Texas but rarely is on ground more than 24 hours. Just long enough. Can't imagine dealing with it for months at a time. My father came from Northern Mn. Not far from Canadian border. He never talked about moving back.

Glad it doesn't snow in Central Texas very often because the folks here just don't know how to drive in snow and ice.
But it was 98°F. here today.

Along the Chesapeake we saw a little snow, then sleet and freezing rain. Coffee had been made before the power went out, so it wasn't too bad for us retired folks

98 and it's still winter. What's it going to be like in July and August? Oh yeah, hot as hell. It's Texas after all.

It's not so much that people don't know how to drive on snow in the southern states but the ground temp is much higher turning snow into the slipperyest crap known to man.

People up north think little of driving 70 on hard packed snow but put them on snow down south and they can follow the guy in front right into the ditch.

For the fellow in Dallas, PA, that last storm went south of us and hammered you guys, all we got was a few flurries but they are calling for the Friday night and Saturday snow here, aarrrrgggghhhhhh

For years I told my parents "You're retired. If you don't like what you see when you get up, go back to bed for a couple of days and then try again"
