So the client is actually a friend? And your friend wants you to shoot them the first time having sex as a married couple? This whole story sounds odd.

I don't understand. Do the bride and groom actually want a photographer taking pictures while they "do the nasty" for the first time. There are unpleasant words to describe this kind of thing. Porno come to mind first. This can't be a serious request. As a photographer I would regard this request as a lawsuit getting ready to happen. 2 words of advice--STAY AWAY

I guess the thing for me is that it is capturing a moment between the couple. It is not a planned shoot with models, but real people with real emotion. If that makes sense to you. I think it would be much easier to shoot actors doing this, but friends, intimate enough that your wife is in their wedding party... Maybe, they are just swingers and didn't have a better way of inviting you along

Why be shy and say 'do the nasty' or other euphemisms when you folks talk about sex?
What is wrong with being honest and simply say 'while they have sex'? Are your minds so perverted that they cannot accept sex without seeing or imagining a sin? Are we back to middle school and 'playing doctor'???
Call everything by its name not by 'code name' to protect the 'innocent' readers that quite honestly should be old enough to speak plainly and certainly are not 'innocents', 'naive' or whatever.

That's a little more difficult then unless you're all in 'the lifestyle'.
Have you asked precisely what they mean by 'consummation' in this context? There are different interpretations, perhaps you will need to do a rehearsal first to get the positions, camera angles, and lighting correct. Perhaps more than once.
You may need to get the officiant involved if it includes 'Altar Native' approaches.
So many things to consider!
