OMG! I haven't seen one of those in decades. Not since my Zone System days.

Interesting Bob, but my Pi day is going to be apple with ice cream on top.

Mike, that's what I use this one for. I'm still using The Zone System.

Just returned from the market where I got a peach pie for $3.14. Already had the ice cream. :-)

March 14 is called Pi day. Pi = 3.14156... rounded down to two decimal places it's 3.14. Clear up the confusion?
Using a densitometer to indicate 3.14 made the photographic connection.

Do you think that a photo would be significantly improved if we followed the rule of 1/Pi instead of the rule of 1/3?

Ahhh. Its US date system..we are DD/MM/YY so the connection was broke. Densitometer being what we call callipers.

Obvious really..........

John, I think the photo would be significantly improved with better exposure setting and using a tripod. Admittedly, it was a very hurried, late the night of the 14th effort. I may do another one for next year. I did purchase a tee shirt for Pi Day 2015 at 9:26:53 in the morning.

I also photographed my digital watch at 12:12:12 on Dec. 12, 2012.

Unfortunately the US and UK both use a very poorly thought-out date notation. The ONLY logical way is YY/MM/DD (or YYYY/MM/DD if you care about the century), and if you want more granularity you can can add hh.mm.ss onto the end. ANYONE CARE TO ARGUE???

In fact, you don't need the separators at all if you use all the characters for month and day. When used at the beginning of filenames that you want to have in chronological order it works VERY well.
