My ol'mate Erich has snow up to his armpits so I thought a nice tropical scene might cheer him up. Oh yea I forgot to the snapping types snow and fog etc are just lovely lol Meanwhile back in the real world one actually cannot beat the sun on ya back with all the folks around you happy cos the weather is good.
This is the landing stage for boats dropping passengers at Taal volcano. The tip of the volcano, the bit that does the hot lava and ash spewing sits in the middle of a large lake about an hour from my home. You get to the volcano by boat and then tramp up a very steep incline for 40 minutes or sit astride a pony who takes you up whilst the wooden saddle removes all the skin from ya butt.
My 3 friends and I chartered a private boat which sat and waited for us to embark on the return journey. Travelling on a tightly packed boat with touristy types and their quite awful children is not for the feint hearted and certainly not for us.
So Erich I told you I had learnt something did I not? Well I learnt that for sure I hate travelling in open boats privately chartered or not! Snapping teaches you such a lot does it not?
Did a bit of CIM at the summit mate but must have got the swing wrong cos I can assure you the results aint worth looking at. Going to try duct taping the camera to my head and running about. What do you reckon?

Thank you so much for this warm and sunny scene to melt away the chill in my bones. Actually, it appears now that Mother Nature did us a solid. The snow/rain line is just north of us and we are getting high winds and driving cold rain today. No shoveling of snow so far; but still not very nice weather. Our superintendent of schools seems to have panicked a bit when he heard the weather report. So, I got a day off of school which just means I have to make it up in June when the weather will be quite sweltering and humid. I'm sorry you had to endure the cries of unruly children in a cramped open boat exposed to the perils of the sea to get me this photo; but I certainly appreciate your sacrifice. Hopefully, when the weather gets a bit tamer, I'll be able to get out and shoot street lamps reflecting their light off wet pavement. I have seen some really nice photos in books and in competitions using this effect to the advantage of the photographer. Alas, my attempts are usually not that memorable. I am, however, an intrepid snapper and someday, if I practice, I'll get it right. Thanks for the photo, Billy. enjoy the South Seas; but maybe stay off the actual South Seas for a while.

I have seen some great shots such as you describe Erich. Victorian type street lighting and quaint shop fronts etc. Have a feeling its not as straight forward as it looks to capture them so my friend I wish you luck and look forward to seeing them

I'm afraid it will have to wait. We did not get the snow; but it is very blustery and cold. I'll have to wait for a warmer night. Have a good day, Billy.
