Please be critical as much as you can .
The first is resized, the second is "as is". Camera is limping, so I have used Auto. Sure the crop will help
Thank you Miro
The first is a lovely shot. Sharp and well posed!
Nice shots! It's a shame that chain link fence is behind the bird in the second, but we can't control when and where they'll land. I've never been blessed with the opportunity to have any sort of raptor land that close to me. And it would be just my luck to not be ready. :-)

Love that first shot, very nice
I don't mind the fence in #2 because with the brick and other man-made stuff, it's obviously in an urban environment. The ferns and plants climbing the chain link fence make a nice setting.
For #1, depending on if you are planning to print and the size you want, I recommend cropping a bit from the left side to move the bird out of center. Just personal opinion re the composition - more pleasing IMO. It's a very engaging shot with the perch being the rough metal structure.
Pretty darned nice for auto!
Thank you for your kind responses. BUT I thought you will give me some cold shower about sharpness and so on.
I have this guy (maybe his friend) coming to my yard. But he is very shy. This time he came to admire my fish pond
...but my camera is in repair. Today 2 of them appeared.
Dan Downie - look at it as the idiot always have a good luck. You would not believe how many ties my camera was set to wrong ...left from last shooting. I have missed so many times the blue & white herons.

In spite of a somewhat busy background, that Hawk just pops out and steals the show.
Excellent capture, MiroFoto. Thanks for sharing this lovely image.
They are very nice photos. I do find them to be a bit soft on focus, though. It is ever so slight and maybe it's just my tired old eyes.
Thank you komac - will do !! check the sharp PS: the first has been reduced , so it should be a bit softer. The second is the original jpeg ... thus a bit soft.
Thank you Miro
Beautiful pics of a beautiful bird.
