I was born on the wrong side of the tracks, so I feel at home.

I believe they are for electric trains.
Did they hold a catenary cable?

Hi Longshadow, I didn't see any cables...

USED to hold the cables. Probably no more electric trains either.
(Probably a second track also years ago.)

That's cool, I just liked the pattern into the distance.

Interesting shot. On one hand it looks abandoned with the cables long gone and the cross cables cutting across low. But on the other hand the lack of natural growth and what looks like a rail car in the distance says it may still be used but not by electric power. I would think all those metal arches could be repurposed for something.
Very nice work. You definitely lined up the shot with great care.

The phrase "electric trains" brought back my childhood. I wanted an electric train but family resources weren't up to it and I received a wind-up train one Christmas. It never satisfied like the electric ones I received in later years.

Longshadow,
You are right, these were from Henry Ford's electric trains way back in the day.
