Saving Lightroom 6 Download

I recently purchased Lightroom 6 outright...Just the download, no DVD. If I want to save the link and for some reason I need to reload it again, can the download link be safely moved to an exterior drive?

Am guessing though it may always be in my email?...

When I purchase downloads like that they get downloaded to my Downloads folder. You get access to the executable installation file by double clicking on the downloaded file (that's true even if the downloaded file is a compressed file). There is nothing stopping you from saving the downloaded file wherever you want to save it - and/or just leave it where it is.

Sure, I do it all the time. I keep all mine on an exterior drive after I load them.

That link was to a file that was downloaded to your machine for installation of the software. It should be in C:\Users\<your username>\downloads. Just create a folder somewhere to keep these sorts of files in and move all of them there after installation.

If you purchased and installed it, the "setup" file, that installs the program/app, is in your downloads folder. You can use it to reinstall. Not sure, but perhaps you are referencing the url to the download on the website for purchase? If that's the case, put it in your favorites (bookmarks) for future use.

I always backup and archive my download folder. Saves a ton of time reinstalling apps in the event of a drive crash or building a new machine.

You can always reinstall from the Adobe site - just log in and all your purchases are listed.

Yes, or a folder on your computer. It is compressed until you double click on it to expand the zip to the full file.

I don't know about Lightroom stand alone but CC puts a link on your desktop where you can download as many times as you like but only on two computers at a time.
