As the topic indicates, one of the UHH members wanted me to give the Canon 200mm Lens a try with the Canon 1.4 III TC. I am surprised with the outcome and am awaiting all the C&C I hope to get. All the detail will be with each photo. The 200mm lens with the 1.4 TC ends up being 280mm. The Canon 80D has a crop factor of 1.6. This results in an apparent view of a 448mm lens. Thank you for coming by and leaving a comment.

Donna, I thank you for your comment. I took these from the exact same position that I use my 100-400mm Canon lens. The detail that is shown with these particular photos is as good as or maybe better than the bigger lens. Just unique results and when you consider the cost of the equipment.

Greg, the Canon 200mm 2.8L is considered one of Canon's sharpest, so I'm not surprised. It's my dream lens, but I need IS, and that brings the price over my range. Will have to wait until my ship comes in, and I don't expect it any time soon.

Donna, as you know this one does not have IS. I really need IS also when the shutter speed gets low. With the 2.8 f stop it is easy to keep the shutter speed up and using a tripod I seem to eliminate the concern. Wish we were close enough to give you this lens for a couple of weeks to try out, I think you would be surprised.

Jim, you nailed it with the URL. It is one of the least expensive L lenses from Canon.

Angela, thank you for all the thumbs up along with your comments. I forgot how sharp this lens is since I got the Canon 100-400mm. I need to use it more often.
