Irresistibly cute little Vertebral Slug Snake (Asthenodipsas vertebralis) that we spotted crossing the road one rainy night, highland of Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia.

Super cute little neonate Malayan Bridle Snake (Dryocalamus subannulatus) I spotted on a mossy tree trunk. Just when I wanted to record a short clip of it, it disappeared under the bark and never to be seen again :D. Peninsular Malaysia.

A mating pair of Red-headed Kraits (Bungarus flaviceps) after they were spooked by some wild animals. The male was the biggest krait I have ever seen. Truly an encounter of a lifetime. Doubt if I'll ever come across something like this again. Peninsular Malaysia.

Each one of these is unique, interesting and beautiful in its own way. That Krait shot is one for the text book and the Slug snake has such a different head pattern, I suppose for some sort of disguise. The Bridle snake hiding under bark is such a good shot and the.... and the...... etc. etc. I won't go on but all are superb.

Each one so awesome and rare that to view in one post they dilute/compete with each other! Each one something we individuals will never come across... frankly that is fine with me!! I grew up in Michigan and we only had green garden snake that were harmless.. just heard stories about places where there were wild and dangerous snakes.

An image from the movie "The Green Wall".... Story in Peru ... a jungle homestead family struggle. The son was bitten in the calf of the leg by a black mamba ... he ran to the house and the snake held on and was like a rope behind him... an image that has glued in my mind. Snakes register in our primitive brains as a threat.

Most of us forget the most dangerous creature on earth walks upright and kills because they seem to enjoy it.
