The new Washingtonian affluence and aloofness.

TIME MAG May 28 by A. Ferguson: " The new affluence flooding the nation's capital sets it a world apart from the country it governs." "Of the 20 counties with the highest estimated median income in the U.S., half surround the capital." "Danny Harris lives in a gentrifying neighorhood. He's troubled by the civic detachment he sees in his fellow professionals." "Socially and culturally, life in über-Washington can be seen as insular as its economy, and the insularity has consequences for the rest of the country." "How long can such a culture of complacency last, even one as heavily subsidized by a country as rich as the U.S., in the face of awesome government debt?" "The optimism of über-Washingtonians so far survives the unspoken worry about a coming age of austerity, in which gov. spending cuts would end the high life. They are right to be optimistic. The 2 most plausible dificit-reduction proposals - one by Prez Obama, the other by the Repub. controlled House Budget Committee - each calls for the gov. in 2021 to spend a trillion dollars more than it spends today."

I guess that is what happens when you have a highly educated populace in a small area. The same in Silicon Valley.

Moral of the story:

Get an Education.

Interesting misinformation.

Fewer now in the Federal Government than under Bush!

Perhaps you need to do some research!

It's too obvious you haven't done your homework.
All I can to say is you have to be on BO's payroll as his pr puppet. You make him more than he is.

In spite of one wants to believe, most government workers aren't rich!

But the lobbyist (sp?) that live all around the capital are rich from the payments they receive from the ultra rich - "new American aristocracy" and the corporate elite.

The rest of us, the workers who create real value, have seen declining wealth since the 1980s.

Don't you just hate when facts get in the way of your beliefs?
What we have here is an example of your ignorance.

I have no need to respond. You need no help in making clear what kind of a person you are.

You are making your ole mantra assumptions. Did you skip the first line where I pointed out the quotes were from a very recent Time mag article. You're not saying Time mag is faux news? I have not heard the article discussed in any radio or TV program; they should have. I read the article and gave the cogent quotes from it and wrote you my reply to your comment.

I'm confused (or ignorant, as per Old Sarge), but I'm not sure who is arguing with whom.

Peace!
