Green Kingfisher

The word Kingfisher usually makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up because they are so camera shy and elusive. Well, I finally landed two pretty good shots of a Green Kingfisher which you will probably only see in South Texas or maybe southern Arizona. This is a female I found at the Santa Ana National Wildlife Preserve in the Rio Grande Valley.

Great find. Serendipity is the best way to get a photo. You never know when you will find that lucky shot. We all have stories of shots that just pop up when we least expect it.

Good job. Every time I think I am going to get my 1st kingfisher something goes wrong.
