Well worthwhile downloading as it is great.

Glad you liked the download. These types of shots look so much better on the big screen.

Excellent shot. It makes me think maybe I should get up and see what else I have missed ... nayyyy.

Thank you. There are lots of really net things to see out there in the middle of the night. I love being out there. There is always room for one more to join the party... :-)

Does Canon have a 6 hour self-timer?

Very Nice. Stealing (borrowing) your settings for a few tests.

The Milky Way over Big Cypress Preserve.
'Twas a beautiful morning in the Big Cypress Preserve. At 4:30 this morning, no wind, and while a tad chilly, there were NO, absolutely NO mosquitoes.
The Milky Way, blended with the rising sun to create a scene well worth staying up to see.

Please view the download.
Thanks for looking.

Nikon D810, 24-70mm lens at 24mm. 4000 ISO, f2.8, 20 seconds

This is a 10 shot merger. All shots taken in the vertical position.

A prize winner that should hang in a high end gallery.

Actually, if you have an interval timers you could work it out. The problem would be pointing the camera in the exact direction and angle to get the MW.

I used my GO SKY WATCH tracker to tell me where it was going to be---and it was much more to my left than I thought. :-)

But that is OK... I'll be out shooting it again just for you! :-)

Now I need my nap----excuse me.

Help your self. Just don't let the shutter run more than 20 seconds or you nod longer get star points, you get ovals.

Thanks for looking

Plenty of room to accommodate you. This time I managed to park less than 10 feet from where I set up the tripod. I'm NEVER that lucky..

Thanks for the compliment. The image can hang, as long as I don't have to hang with it. :-)
