Well, right now you have a great example. It's like riding a bicycle, it comes back to you. A GPS or compass on your cell phone helps find Polaris, too.

And yeah, the Milky Way, be prepared to stare in awe. The skies in a dark zone are fantastic!
I never thought too much about the time a card took. I bumped it a few times shooting the grand kids soccer games. But trying to narrow that gap between my star trails shots really drove the point home.
A faster and bigger card took care of that for me.
