I don't know what this flower is called but it is only 1in in width. It was only 3inches off the ground so I reversed the legs on my tripod and hung my camera upside down to get a close shot. It grows wild here in Virginia in the spring on the forest floor.
I am no expert but it looks like a Periwinkle flower to me.

I am a native of Virginia and your photo brought back memories. Where we now live ground cover like Periwinkle is sparse.
