Your are SO right,Angela. They are beautiful when blooming, they are interesting as they wane. Thank you so much for looking and commenting!

The understated light encourages us to really explore the textures and shapes. Elegant, Carla! I'm curious how you got it to stand up

Exactly, Linda! There is so much texture in the past prime leaves and flowers, even more so then when they are in their prime. There is a little grove in the box to help support the stem, plus, the original flower was a bit fuller which helped it stand up. (I cloned out a few "branches"). Thank you so much for looking, commenting.

My not-so-green thumb is cringing in empathy. Classy presentation noneetheless, especially the lighting and color scheme.

Winter's toll on the hydrangea...

CarlySue, I love it but I did not know you were in my backyard taking photos of my hydrangea. A little joke, however, mine look the same and I do have some new growth which may get killed back this weekend. 27 degrees Saturday morning and 32 on Sunday. The majority are close to the house so those do not worry me, just the ones I moved out into the yard around my feeders. They make great photos year around.

I appreciate your thoughts and comments,Charmdragon. Unforgivingly, I had not chanced upon your posts so I just took the time to do so. And am I glad I did!! Impressive work! I love the moodiness of your Mayflower images, huge impact! And your drive-by lighthouse is fantastic! I love the blur of the landscape, all of those horizontal lines which gives your distant lighthouse total preeminence as subject. You obviously don't post often, but when you do, your images are exemplary!

Hey,Greg, I can be pretty sneaky so no doubt you missed me out there. I can be a bit of a blur. N.C. always looks gorgeous when the hydrangea and azaleas come to bloom. I'm thinking they'll do well for you, its has gotten to be colder than that here (had a drop from 75 to 32 two weekends ago). Hydrangea can be temperamental. Looking forward to seeing images of yours in bloom soon!

The Hydrangea is beautiful in full flower and when dry shows more detail in the petals. Excellent shot carlysue, love the composition.

Thank you so much,HT, so glad you enjoyed! There is some beauty left in past prime, it may be harder to find at times.
