This is some fungi that a saw on a dead tree that I normally wouldn't give a second look. Glad I did! The area of the photo is only about 2"x2".

I believe this is called a turkey tail fungi.... they are beautiful and a very nice shot!!!

Turkey tails, Trametes versicolor. It’s a common fungus that rots dead and fallen tree branches. A very pretty subject for closeups and macro.

Yes, nice! I found a larger specimen similar to that decades ago (1980?) and photographed it with 4x5" B&W film (and some 35mm shots). Who knows where those are today.
