I was told that XQD cards were the future of digital photography. I have read on UHH, that was not case that these were actually being phased out. Anybody have any knowledge on this? thanks!

From what I've seen online, XQD is the future of memory.

It would certainly be open to debate as to what is the future of digital photography!
But it is fairly clear that XQD cards are not being phased out. Today they do represent the fastest card available, but they are only used in Nikon high end cameras.

I'm no a soothsayer but as of now XQD is state of the art. Eventually everything becomes superannuated and replaced by something better.
The technology will ALWAYS be around. It's just a matter of how soon it becomes supplanted by yet a better technology.
Isn't that what I said? No matter. Everyone has to get their 2 cents in even if the same thought has been conveyed a million times. Guess it makes them feel erudite.
Good morning! I've got to have something to whine about! I've been spoiled with needing nothing but SD cards and now I need XQD and CF cards, especially for our upcoming trip. In all seriousness, the speed and durability of the XQD's is great. No real competition to drive prices down. I had my 810 at Nikon for a bent CF card pin and they gave me a price to convert it to XQD,which I approved and they suddenly backed out and said that they don't do that anymore. Life in the fast lane...

Perhaps if you were not so pompous, pretentious, nor grandiloquent others would take your meaning better?
