In my slightly newer version, it's called "open in camera raw." I sent you an adjusted version to compare.

Pam, besides that powerful tool, take a look on the regular Elements edit page under "Enhance." There are sliders for lighten shadows, darken highlights, midtone contrast.

Another thought: when you're first playing with sliders, it's helpful to push all the way to left or right so you can clearly see the extreme. Then slowly move back towards middle 'til you're happy with the result. And after you've worked a second element, don't be afraid to go back to the first and re-adjust.

I hope you're able to get your font issue worked out. Much to explore and enjoy in Elements. I love it, even though I only know about half of what I should by now

Now I'm really getting excited...just now saw your post.....tomorrow I will have to give this a go! I'm sure there are a lot of tricks and methods but I wonder if they are covered in a book on elements....I do have one for 11 but never succeeded in finding out how to adjust those fonts! They should have a massive cheat sheet!
Thanks Linda

Once I got the basics of Windows (waayyy back when), every time I learned new software I preferred to explore it on my own first, then read books or articles. Just seemed like it helped make everything "fit" better. I did the same with Elements (I have 12 and 13): used it - and asked questions on UHH - then after a few months, I bought two how-to books.

Have fun, Pam!

Thank you all for your thots about the spider web I posted yesterday....I will concede that it was an out of focus shot, and I will concede it probably should not have been posted here. But my point was not really the spider, rather, the prism effect of the web. Who knew those strands could reflect such light at just the right angle.
I thot I should let you know that I am capable of an 'in focus' shot....to my critics.....smiling......for your consideration.....thanks!

I like all of these shots. The bridge with the fall colors on the hillside is very well done. I think the tree with those bright colors is also a good photo. Well done and not blown out. Billy made some good suggestions about the berries. A really enjoyable set. I spend as much time as I can in the Adirondacks. NY State is one of my favorite places.

ebrunner! I call those my lucky shots! But I was thankful for Billyspad pointing out that berry! I really don't know how that got by me. Like I said, probably because after I put a mat on it, it was covered! But now, I've taken care of that little critter! Always enjoy others suggestions and input.
