I just jokingly remarked to my wife a few days ago that I'd might be apprehensive to actually meet Bill Paxton, as his career has mostly been about disasters or other bad things about to happen (i.e. Tombstone, Aliens, Terminator, Titanic, Twister, Apollo 13, etc).
I just read on msn.com that he died from complications during surgery. I would gladly breath a sigh of relief and not get angry if someone were to tell me this was just a sick joke.
This news just devastates me as I always knew whenever a movie came on TV that I hadn't seen before and Bill Paxton was one of the stars, that this would be a film well worth watching. Also it was clear to me from "day 1" that he had a fine personal life and great personal character - a truly great human being.
So Sad, so very, very sad.
From IMDB:
Died: February 25, 2017 (age 61) (complications from surgery)

sorry I have never heard of him...........I have never seen any of the movies you list, except Titanic........I left the theatre ... I hated it.LOL
I just read this earlier. I think it is sad and tragic. He seemed like an all around nice guy and a talented actor. I am sure he will be missed by many, me included.

Yes - he seemed like a good guy.

If you never heard of him you must live in a closet.

I read that last night. What a shame - and so young.
Heck of an actor--I never saw him do bad work, even in clunkers. I wonder what will happen to "Training Day" now?

Unfortunately it isn't a hoax.

I read that he had finished the first season and the ratings weren't that great. So there wasn't going to be a second season anyway. I did like the show.

Great character actor. Also a musician. If you have ever heard the song "Fish Heads", he had a hand in creating the song and video. Pretty out there!
