Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 Monitor Color Display Discrepency

I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 on a Windows 10 computer. The color and luminescence displayed in the Elements window is substantially different from pictures placed on the computer desktop or on other picture viewer programs. Is there a way to tweak or otherwise adjust the Elements 14 display window color picture display?

You need to set up your monitors for color balance possibly. I use Spyder Pro 5. Once the down load is done the program tells you what to do next. It does take time to set it up but what my monitor sees is within a percent or two of what the printer makes. I also set my Photoshop to use the printer's color profile. All profiles need to match. Printer to computer to monitor must all talk the same language (profile) to get prints that match the monitor. Until I did that I used to wonder why they never matched. With the Spyder Pro5 you can if I remember it right use it on two computers. I just set up two new monitors with it. My Photoshop runs on one monitor while the print I work on is on the larger monitor. That way I can see what an 11X 14 will look like when printed.

There is no problem using the printer as the color and density matches the other programs on the computer. The issue is that display in Elements 14 doesn't match the other programs on the computer.

I have 15 but try this just in case you missed it during set up or an update changed it. go to "edit" menu click on "color settings" then click on always "optimize for printing" or use option "always optimize colors for computer screens" there are two other options there is another set of menus under preferences and you could try the help menu if it still has you confounded
I use the "optimize for printing"

I would trust Adobe for color accuracy over "other picture viewer programs". First thing you need to do is calibrate your monitor using a colorometer like the ColorMunki or Spyder Pro 5etc.

Hi,
More playing and testing on my part. Discovered that if I set the color settings (under Edit) to "No Color Management", the screens seem pretty close to each other. The other two choices (Printer and Computer) are way off base from the other on-screen colors. Thanks.
