I don't do still lifes.....or beaver shots

But, this citrus family member was hanging around on one of my end tables in the sunroom and the Canon EOS M3 with 17-85mm lens on it took a couple casual shots (no assisted lighting). I just liked the texture and the color with some bokeh thrown in for grins. Earlier in the day we had photographed a beaver dam and their work from the night before as big time loggers...and they sure are! Powells Creek on the James River Wildlife Refuge near Flowerdew plantation where Grant crossed the james r. to lead the last year of the war from his City Point base with a 50 mile long train of men and supplies across a 2200' pontoon bridge...

This camera is slated to be replaced Tuesday when the new Sony Alpha7 arrives with adapter to use my Canon lenses on it...going from cropped excellent sensor to full frame even better sensor on this, my travel camera, versus the bigger, better, heavier Nikon D4 for non travel uses.

Moral of the story is maybe to get up earlier....My Sony doesn't have a beaver setting...Perhaps they know we don't have them in the UK.
