Taken in a stable in downtown Ouray several years ago. I don't think this place exists anymore, but it was a holdout from a much older West.

My wife and I loved Ouray during a short stay there. Worth the trip off the beaten path.

You're really fast. I just posted this. Yes, it is one of our favorite places. We used to live in nearby Durango.

Love this but I remember Ouray as a mining town rather than horses, ranch and cattle - more elk and mountain goats/sheep - I am from Pagosa Springs and Ouray was just one off the many mining towns we lived in as he followed the trade of a "Hard RockMiner" all over the western states for 25 yrs.

Yup, it was. Main business now is tourism. We also love Pagosa.

I lived in Ouray on and off from the mid 60's to the mid 70's and remember the livery operating. Thanks for that one.

I'm glad I could share the memory. That old crooked building was boarded up as of last summer.
