In Prague at the city museum there is a 14th century astronomical clock ... a smaller version of of the giant clock in the town square...
Amazing things show the location of the sun and planets. the humor of this one is that sitting right next to it is a version demanded by the bishop that showed ( obviously ) the earth as the center of the universe. Of course, the planets, sun, etc were non functional as earth centered.
My daughter has to spend another month on research there this summer, maybe it's time for a visit again!

In my opinion it is pretty difficult to take bad photos in Prag, Budapest or Vienna. My wife and I toured all three with only a point and shoot (Coopix 4300). Looking at our collection of pictures I would say to take a wide and fast lens if possible (two examples attached). There are tons of opportunities for interior and exterior night street shots you will regret not being able to get with a longer lens. As far as architecture all three have been rebuilt several times and are Baroque versions of each other. Prag has some slight nods to their Slavic roots but these are superficial. For a tourist each can be seen in two to three days, for a photographer a month is not enough time to do them justice.
