Water rolling over a low head dam, downtown Des Moines. Too many people have gotten to close in a boat and get sucked in. Most don't make it out. There is a dramatic story of a rescue by construction workers when they were building the bridge I am standing on. Quick thinking and a crane saved one women. Only a three foot drop but the power of the water is tremendous.
