Lenovo Thinkpad X201 (3113) Core i7 2.13Ghz CPU L640 12.1” Tablet / 8GB/160GB SSD Windows 10 Pro + . Can anyone give me any information pertaining to this laptop. Would you buy one in the year 2017 $475.00
Oh, I thought this was about IBM going out of business...
By the way IBM is Lonovo, if I recall correctly.
IBM sold the lap top and desk top business to china. They now produce computers under the name of Lonovo.

Perhaps if it has a touchscreen. Price OK. Memory a little weak bit easily upgraded. Hot processor.
160GB for a hard drive is pretty small. If you plan to have highspeed internet and keep your files in the cloud or an external drive, the platform and price are fine.
I think ibm still makes high end laptops

Basically correct.
"Lenovo acquired IBM's personal computer business in 2005 and agreed to acquire its Intel-based server business in 2014." Wikipedia
Another hog is correct in stating Lenovo is no longer IBM. They sold it off to a Chinese company I believe. As far as I know Lenovo is a pretty solid piece of equipment. Lots of government agencies use them for whatever that's worth. I have/had a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro that went south on me after a year and a half. It's still a great lightweight little machine if I could only get it working. It says it can't find the hard drive but I've done my research and it's most likely the HD board and not the HD itself.

IBM is no longer a producer of laptops or desktop Windows computers and haven't been for years.

And no longer x86 servers either. They sold that to Lenovo also after under funding the division for several years.

Yep. Lenovo is beginning to do some innovation on the server side. Their support can be a little patchy at times.
I canceled the order and upgraded the system software
IBM sold their laptop division to Lenovo several years ago.
I use that laptop with an i5 processor for remote control of cameras in the field as it has good battery life, is small and light but fully functional. For that price the laptop would be about right. It is not a good laptop for editing images though as the screen resolution is limited; not the greatest video card. It is strong and resists hard use fairly well.
