Hi, everybody. Over the years I've become something of a Cat Rescuer. Not on purpose, it just sorta happened.

I currently have three rescue cats and this is Alice, my most recent. One of her former owners died and the other is in jail. She was abandoned in a house for an entire month with someone making a 150 mile daily round trip to feed/ water her. She was headed for the pound the day after I agreed to take her had I not done so. Here, as an Owner Surrender, she would have been put down fairly quick and I just didn't think that was right. She's had a tough little life but at least now she has a safe home and a couple of sisters.

She's borderline feral but is seeming to mellow bit by bit. I've had her for nine days, it'll take many more before she feels confident and secure.

Anyway, thought I'd share. Thanks for the look and happy weekend. :)

She's beautiful! Try buying Temptations. They love them. I've made friends with the 5 cats at the barn very quickly. Even the owner is surprised how much they all like me.

I rescued a Himalayan. His owners were moving to FL and told the cat rescue if they didn't come and get him, they were going to leave him behind outside :-( They didn't treat an ear infection until it had gotten so bad that he is partially blind in one eye and he can't meow anymore. It comes out as a harsh whisper.

Very nice photo. I have three cats, two abandoned or escaped and one born wild to one of the others. Free range cats here in Tucson are in grave danger of being food. Love your story and care for cats.

Thank you, Slunetta. The free range felines here are more apt to fall victim to pick-up trucks. Sad.

Thank you, Piaffe, and thanks for the Temptations tip, too. Sad about the Himalayan but glad he has a safe home now.

That's a good analogy - potato chips!! He is. I need to take a really good photo of him so everyone can see how handsome he is. I'll never understand people that can do that to an animal. Alice is lucky she has you :-)

That is a wonderful kitty portrait, John! Alice probably feels like she's landed in a Wonderland and is afraid it might evaporate. Many thanks from us fellow cat lovers, for your kindness.
