Hi all. I have a Nikon D3300 and one of my lenses is the Tamron 70-300mm. I love taking wildlife photos. The Tamron works really well but I want to zoom in more. My research bounces around with no clear "try this" lens. What recommendations are here for the "next level" zoom lens that won't break the bank? "PS. One search led me to a $26,000 lens. I don't think so. Thanks in advance. 😊"

Tamron 150-600, version 1 or 2;
Sigma 150-600, Contemporary or Sport Model.

What Jim said. These are very good lenses and will not make you sell the house.:)
Lenses specifically designed for your camera for sports and wildlife photography could be expensive depending on the quality. Nikon manufactures the 200-500 f5.6 VR that sells for around $1300 and it weights a ton.
Tamron and Sigma are doing very well with their 150-600 f4-5.6 VR lenses. You pay less and you get a very good product with its limitations that I seriously question if you will notice. Prices around or close to $900.
These lenses have more attractive prices in the second hand market so if I were you I would be looking there.
Buy a used lens save the money
Welcome to the forum. I own a Nikon 70-300mm lens. The discontinued D3300 is a great entry level camera. I would prefer it over the newer D3400. I also like prime lenses, as I own two of them. I recommend one I own. The 50mm f1.8. Inexpensive too. Good luck to you.
<woodworker2012> I have the Nikon bundle package of the D3300 and 2 lenses. 18-55 / 55-200. although you have a 70-300, I bought the 200-500. it was one of Nikons new, late 2015-early2016, lenses as there was no discount all year as I kept my eye on it. it's great I love it and very compatible. if you got this one you would only have a 200-300 overlap, then extend out to the 500. just my 2 cents. good luck with your decision. I know others will recommend something else like the sigma 150-600. that does get you father than the Nikon. but I didn't mind getting the same brand for this one. i'm getting a different brand for the low end side. later this year i'm getting 11-20mm lens. my full range will be then 11-500mm. good enough for me for now. maybe just one more after that. a fisheye. Nikons 10.5mm someone does have a 5.? but don't remember and doesn't matter, lol.
