I have mostly Lexar for my Nikon bodies. I do have a few SanDisk and neither has been the problem. It depends what you are shooting. If you are doing birds in flight then you may want 1000x and watch the read and write numbers. B/h had a sale on lexar 32 gb over the weekend. If your gears old some of the newer cards will work but will be overkill, in my opinion.
If your are shooting video- then you want the best cards available.
Read the specs for your camera as there is a max rate at which your camera can read and write to a SD card.
Mostly SanDisk, occasionally Lexar. No failures with either so far.

After moving your images from any size card to your computer or other safe storage device, ALWAYS RE-FORMAT YOUR CARD IN YOUR CAMERA. Before continuing to use the card. Much less chance of having any card corruption, although never a 100% garrenttee.
I agree. Also I use 32 or 64gb cards because my cameras have a backup card in the other slot,so I don't reformat until I successfully download and backup. The XQD cards are minimum 32gb anyway.

I use Sandisk, I have eight of them.
Agreed. I use SanDisk Ultra and Extreme's. Never had a failure.
Those cheaper cards may not be the best buy if they are to slow for your camera or if they have low reliability. The old saying you get what you pay for applies in this situation. You just have to choose what you are willing to put up with or risk.

...I'm with you AFA SD cards...I use alot of micros and have bought "inexpensive" and been disappointed, but the SanDisks are holding up. I need as fast as I can buy, for other style cards (xqd and CF) Lexar is reliable for me...
I primarily use Sandisk 32GB with 16GB backup. (in case I run out of 32GB cards-not likely have 24) I have purchased a Lexar media card. All work great. I just expect that after a bit, the cards will start to fail. I rotate the cards, reformat just prior to use and have never lost a photo. Did I just jinx myself? If you are doing video, you might need the larger capacity card, but shooting RAW, Nikon, on a 32GB card gives you close to 2000 shots. (JPEG fine gives you 4000)
I purchase media cards every time they go on sale. Some aren't out of their protective mounting yet. Always ready. Have fun deciding your needs.
2000 Shots your file sizes must be small, I get only 400 on a 32gb card.

I've used SanDisk from Digital day one and never had a failure. 16 gigs is the biggest I use and 8 is what most of my gear has in it. I took some advice about not having all your eggs in one basket. Plus I just don't shoot that many shots in a day and always have a computer and hard drive with me on travels. Just some ideas. S
Can you imagine filling a 64G card and having an unrecoverable card failure?
I too use small cards and only shoot 60-100 pictures on a card.
While it is rare, I have had a relatively new card irrevocably fail.
ScanDisk Extreme Pro 64gig. Never get close to filling it up but memory is cheap ($35 on Amazon) and I do video on occasion. Always download and re-format after each shoot. Knock on wood, no issues. 32gig is probably more than enough if you are only shooting photos. Again, workflow is key I think. Don't go too long without back-up. I do find that it's interesting that I don't hear of failures with the high-end cards, just occasionally from the ultra-cheap ones. Memory cards are not a place to save a few bucks IMHO.

75 MB/files? Could be if you're shootings a 36MP Nikon or 50 MP Canon. The raw files from my 5D3 (22MP) are ~ 27MB and the JPEG fines are ~12MB, so even shooting raw+JPEG, I would expect (and get) ~750 shots on a 32GB card (there's an overhead for the file system, so maybe expect 30GB usable...)
I have been using a variety of cards for years and only 1 failure, in the computer. 64 gig is pretty big and unless you're shooting raw, this make exceed the need. Also, your camera may not support larger cards, check. Sticking with brand names, Sandisk, Sony, etc never hurts. I even have a PQI from years ago that still working fine. Also type 10 should be your target as they have fast read/write speed. There are faster ones but are pricey. Just some thoughts.
Lexar & SanDisk. both the 32gb variety. Used with my Nikon D7100.
