Was curious just how much detail my camera could capture.
This is a little bitty piece of a picture of a spider
,No magnification was used, just a straight photo.
I Bet you didn't know spiders have eyelashes.

"Straight"? Using what lens, in what way? That framing is what, less than 1/8 inch? Cool in any case.

I have Bellows (two of them) and Extension Tubes (3 sets), and I'm so close I can barely light the subject when using 35mm, 50mm, or 100mm macro lenses.

best i remember its a big fat spider about 6 inches from the lens (set to between 70 and 100mm) no tubes or bellows.
It is just a very small crop of the smaller pair of eyes, which was then blown up 1700%
to see how much detail the 20mpx APS-C camera could actually capture.

That's an unusual close-up and a good capture but I wonder what you could have done with this if you had used your 810?

when the newness of the 810 wears off i'll toss a macro on it an give it a try.
Resolution should be almost the same but the 810 sensor is supposed to be cleaner and less noisey.
