Lightroom 6 was working fine and now it will not import images. It shows a preview of them, but when I click import it says "importing images" but it never does and just sits like that. Can anyone help?

You may have to say what raw softwares you are using - and what windows version you are using ect ect.

More info needed -
Are the images in the Import dialogue all highlighted and ticked?
Are you importing from a folder or from a camera card?
Are there many images to import or just a few?
Jpg or raw and have you imported this file type before successfully?
When the message "importing images" comes up, has LR switched to the Library?

I find adobe help line very helpful. One difficulty is my hearing and their accents

Have you made any changes, like a new camera body? Older versions of LR may not recognize the newer file format. In that case, you might need an update to LR, if it is available. 😳

Importing using card reader, insert card into computer slot or wire? Too many unknowns at the moment. Can you see them with Explorer or the equivalent Mac function.

Did you ever think of calling Adobe?

Use Chats, instead of phone calls. I have two hearing aids and have similar issues with accents. When available, I always Chat.

I had the same problem, I found out that LR will not import a folder that has to many photos. one folder had 1500 photos and it would not import I had to break down the folder into less than 1000 photos. I am not sure if there is a setting or not for this

Your issue may be lack of sufficient, available RAM. I've imported 132,000 images, my entire Picture folder into a newly created catalog. It took awhile, but completed successfully without interruption.

Well, I suppose you may call them messaging, but they are always referred to as "Chat" on tech support areas of a website. B & H,
Amazon, Adorama. AT & T, Optimum, ... and most support features of websites have them. You are correct. They do send messages back & forth between you and the tech/customer service support person.
