I use an iMac (27" 2010 model) with Snow Leopard and print from Photoshop CS5 and now CS6. I have an all in one Canon printer MP560 which I purchased with the iMac two years ago. It's a middle of the road printer but good resolution. I use Canon ink and Canon paper and could never get the prints to come close to the pictures on the screen. I tried printing using iPhoto and the Canon software that came with the printer - printing from Photoshop was the best but not good enough. I've read others complain about this and many recommendations to color calibrate the monitor, calibrate the printer, etc. I've tried all of these with no success - very frustrating.

Many UHH members have recommended Red River (RR) paper. I bought a Sampler pack a couple of months ago and just got around to installing the ICCs today (one for each type of paper and varies by type of printer and operating system) - found on RR website along with excellent videos on installing them and setting up CS6 to optimize results.

Today I printed several 8.5"x11" prints and the results are super. Now the prints match what I see on the screen! My wife and I are so pleased. My daughter was blown away with a print that I made of her daughter. I just ordered 4"x6" and 8.5"x11" paper from RR - won't use anything else now. Thanks to everyone who recommended RR.

Wow! I've been over and checked out their web site. Impressive. I've ordered the card sampling kit and looked at some of their videos. There is a lot of helpful information and the prices seem more then reasonable. I think I'm sold as well. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for taking the time to tell us of your experience with this paper. I'm going to give it a try. Although I use Epson, it never hurts to try something new.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have an Epson 9900 printer and have been using Epson rolls, but I'll have to try the Red River papers. They sound great.

I have started using Red River paper and really love the "Arctic Polar" and the "Metallic" papers. "Soft proofing" in PS has really aided in getting the prints to match the screen. Sometimes there is a distinct difference in color and brightness when comparing a "proof" to the original and I have to correct the "proof" to match. Then use the "proof" as the printing master. It has been very accurate.
