What is my name?

I found this among some old files and I can't seem to remember the name of this plant. It's a fairly common weed that I shot in Brockton, Ma. It was in July in an uncultivated field where I was chasing butterflies and dragonflies. I would appreciate it if someone could identify it because I would like to keep it and file it. Try the Download.

Unfortunately, I don't know the name--but it is a beautiful weed. Gorgeous bokeh, crisp shot.

Thank you, CAS1951! That's what I thought when I saw it, unfortunately, that little wild patch has been rendered "civilized". There's nothing but grass on it now.

Angela K, I think you're right. The ones I found on Google have the flowers in full bloom, while mine is just about to pop open. Thanks again.

And to think that all these years I've thought of it as a weed. 40 years ago i lived on the border of springfield garden and Rosedale. I still have a friend in Queens village.

I visit my old neighborhood on google maps.... fun to see that it still looks nice!!
Beebalm also comes in a variety of colors and it's a perennial... you should pick up a plant this year!!

Thanks Foathog, because I had found it in an uncultivated patch and the flower had not fully bloomed I thought it was a weed. Now I know better. :)
