The military puts people through this stuff all the time in certain circumstances. And did you see any of the news video of the procedures during the ebola outbreak?

Yes I did - scary stuff. I'm certainly not downplaying the lyme disease part, it's just ridiculous to think of going out to wander the wilderness looking like I'm from one of those news videos. That would make the joy of going out a little un.... unenjoyable.

I posted this for the paranoid among us.
You can probably get by with say oversize coveralls, hat with mosquito net and surgical gloves worn over shorts and T-shirt. Peel off outerwear, take shower while washing the outerwear and you will most likely be fine. Real simple, just wear regular outfit, and rinse off, change, wash and shower.
However, I know this guy named Murphy who likes to formulate laws for things like this. I know someone who got lyme from hiking a well used trail. She was studying optometry at a medical school and after the student clinic diagnosed her some professors used her to teach how to treat lyme.
