Hi all. I've been following the site for some time now and have thoroughly enjoyed many different posts, both of topics and photos. I finally decided to register as I think I may be able to contribute some valid information from time to time.
I spent the bulk of my career in the commercial printing business specializing in electronic prepress. This is the area responsible for taking original material, such as a photo file, and preparing it for printing either to paper such as on a large format inkjet printer or to metal plates to be used on large printing presses.
I am currently retired and loving it! I am spending a lot of my time reenergizing my love of photography with the intent to become the best photographer I can be. Happily, thanks to information learned on this forum, other online sites, books and friends, I feel I am making some pretty good progress.
I have used Canon equipment since 1970 and currently use a 5D mk IV and a 7D. In the interest of saving weight and space, particularly important on extended motorcycle trips, I added an Olympus OM-D EM-5 mk II about two years ago. I was impressed enough to invest in their EM-1 mk II quite recently. Clearly, I have had a prolonged case of GAS for the past couple of years, but I think I am starting to free myself from its grasp.
I like to shoot most everything from landscapes to street to macro to birds to still life.
Glad to be joining the group!
