So here is the second digital painting I just finished in my tiger series, A Chance Encounter II. I've also included my original photos that I worked from. I shot the tiger at Disney World and the butterfly in my backyard. For those who didn't see my first one, click here: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-434811-1.html

Conceptually, I wouldn't think a tiny butterfly would work with such a large tiger, but obviously I'd be oh-so wrong. Exquisite, Don!

As usual Don, you knock my efforts into a cocked hat! Beautifully done. Particularly like the water drips and splashes, and the reflections - which are also excellent in your linked post. Just been trying my hand at reflections - seemed complex at first attempt, but guess it will come more naturally as I learn. Keep up the good work, its good to have something to aspire to!

The added details are amazing!!! The lighting; drips from the tiger's whiskers; the shadows on the water. Another WOW!!! image.

You've opened my eyes to seeing not just the technical side of pp but also how observant one must be to discern "the whole picture." This is what the word "awesome" really means!

I was so taken with your image that I showed it to my husband who immediately noticed the lack of texture of the tiger's fur in the composite contrasted to the original image. I told him that perhaps the lighting changes the texture. He said he liked the texture.

(Perhaps another thread on whether or not light may change texture?)

Would you please comment? Thanks.

I had the same thought, Linda, but I, too, am really pleased with the results. ;-) Thanks!
