Lake Meredith Texas Sunset

We were camped at Lake Meredith in late November when I saw this shot out our window. Grabbed camera and tripod and ran outside. Has anyone else noticed it is becoming very difficult to get shots of the sky without plane trails in it these days? I was surprised to not see annoying vapor trails in this shot. Guess we were far enough away from Dallas. I would like to thank that leafless tree for being right there for me! SX50HS

Very nice photo, colors are awesome. I concur on the contrails though sometimes they look nice, other times they feel like powerlines and kinda ruin the shot. I've even taken shots ar night where I couldn't see them by eye but there they were in the shot.
And yes that tree rocks.

Beautiful sunset shot. The colors are spectacular and the silhouette tree is a real plus.

It is a beautiful sunset and I particularly like the sky and the balance between the tree and the fence.

That's very pretty. Sometimes contrails are the only "clouds" you get!
